Delete your Velko account
You can delete your Velko account, and the personal data that goes with it, at any time. Velko is the water sports gear rental app operated by David Miguel Ferreira Unip. Lda(NIPC 516583166), Rua das Escolas 26, 3840-065 Calvão, Portugal.
In the app
- Open Velko and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Deletion happens straight away. If you have a rental in progress, finish or cancel it first. Booking requests nobody has answered yet are withdrawn for you.
By email
If you can't use the app, email hey@davidferreira.dev from the email address on your Velko account, with the subject “Delete my Velko account”. If you signed in with Apple and hid your email, write from the Apple ID email and tell us so; we may ask you to confirm the request before acting on it. We delete the account within 30 days of receiving the request, and confirm by email when it's done.
What is deleted
- Your login, email address, display name and profile photo.
- Your listings, listing photos, pickup addresses and saved gear.
- Your notification tokens, business profile, and your Sign in with Apple authorisation.
- The text of your messages, which is replaced with “Message deleted”.
What is kept, and for how long
Some records have to be kept after your account is gone, either because the law requires it or so the other person on a rental keeps their record. Your name on them is replaced with “Deleted user”, and each is deleted automatically when its period ends.
- Bookings, payments, fees and invoices: 10 years, for Portuguese accounting and tax law.
- Seller details already used in a DAC7 tax report (owners only): 10 years, as tax law requires.
- Handover and claim photos, reviews and claims of past rentals: 36 months after the rental ends, the period in which a claim about it can usually still be made.
- Reports and moderation records: 36 months after the report is made.
- Crash and diagnostic reports: 90 days.

Deleting your Velko account doesn't close the Stripe account you may have set up for payouts as an owner. Stripe keeps its own records underStripe's privacy policy.
