Velko
Accessibility
Velko should work for everyone who wants to get on the water. This statement covers the Velko apps for iPhone and Android and these Velko web pages.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the standard referenced by the European accessibility standard EN 301 549. That includes working towards:
- Screens labelled for VoiceOver and TalkBack, with images and controls described.
- Text that scales with your system text size (Dynamic Type and Android font size).
- Colour contrast that meets AA, and information that never relies on colour alone.
- Animations that respect Reduce Motion and the equivalent Android setting.
Known gaps
- The apps and these pages are currently available in English only.
- We have tested with accessibility tools and simulators, and a full review with VoiceOver and TalkBack on physical devices is ongoing. Some screens may still have unlabelled controls or awkward reading order.
Tell us about a barrier
If something in Velko is hard or impossible for you to use, emailhey@davidferreira.dev with the screen or page and what happened. We usually reply within 2 working days, and we'll do what we can to help you in the meantime.
This statement was prepared on 14 October 2026, before Velko's public launch, and will be reviewed after launch and at least once a year.
